Ceremonies at the memorial
Every year, official ceremonies are held there to pay tribute to the victims of the Deportation and to honour the memory of all those who suffered and perished in the Natzweiler concentration camp complex.
National and international ceremonies
Two commemorative ceremonies are organised each year by the National Office for Veterans and Victims of War (ONaCVG):
- The National day of remembrance for the victims and heroes of the Deportation, held on the last Monday in April.
- The international ceremony in memory of the victims of the Natzweiler concentration camp complex, held on the second Sunday in September.
These commemorative events bring together civil and military authorities, representatives of associations, families, schoolchildren and members of the public, in a spirit of shared remembrance and handing down this history to future generations.esprit de mémoire partagée et de transmission aux générations futures.
